Echoing the true spirit of the game of golf, The Golf Photography Awards are split into amateur photographer and professional photographer sections. Each of the competition categories will have an amateur winner and a professional winner. The full details of the winners structure and prizes are below.
Overall Winner:
'The Golfer's Image Photographer of the Year'
The overall amateur and professional winner of The Golf Photography Awards becomes the Photographer of the year. The overall winner will be selected by the judges from one of the category winners. There will be one overall amateur winner, and one overall professional winner.

Category Winner:
Voted for by the international panel of judges, each of the awards categories will have one professional photographer winner and one amateur photographer winner. The voting will be completed independently and anonymously to ensure no conflicts of interest, and each category winner (both professional and amateur) will automatically be entered into the final vote for the overall ‘Golf Photographer of the Year’.

Category Runner Up:
Our panel of judges will be voting on the images entered into the competition, which will result in not only a winner for the category, but also a runner-up. The runner-up for each category will not be entered into the overall winner vote, however, will win a selection of great prizes and gain international exposure. There will be one professional photographer runner-up and one amateur photographer runner-up for each category.

Highly Commended:
There are five professional photographer and five amateur photographer ‘Highly Commended’ awards to be allocated. These are not category specific and will be awarded to images which didn’t quite reach the winner or runner-up award, but are of very high quality. Being selected as a Highly Commended image is still a fantastic achievement and comes with great prizes and international exposure.

All Entrants:
Similar to The Open Championship itself, The Golf Photography Awards are open to anyone, whether they are a professional photographer or not. We believe in accessibility to the awards and want to celebrate the diversity of images captured.
All competition entrants:
