Kevin Murray is regarded as one of the best in the world of golf photography.
A keen sportsman, Kevin caught the golf bug in his early 30’s soon after injuries ended his football and tennis playing days. After working in London as a Creative Director in Advertising, Kevin started up a golf marketing company in 2002 working for Callaway Golf as their Creative Director. A joint project with St Andrews Links Trust and Callaway in 2006 led to a new career in golf photography. His first major commission was to shoot all of the Links Trust courses in what was to become his trademark style, a style which was to become a benchmark for the industry in promoting golf courses worldwide.
Kevin first started working with GolfPunk founder and editor Tim Southwell in 2007 where his images were used in the magazine, coining the phrase Golf Porn. As staff photographer for Golf Monthly, he’s captured portraits and action shots of the world’s best players. He’s also the preferred photographer for Troon Golf, the world’s leading golf course management company.
In 2012 he received the Lawrence Levy Award for Outstanding Golf Photography at St Andrews University, and in 2014 he was appointed as the official photographer to the St Andrews Links Trust.
In 2020 Kevin started Bandit Golf productions and teamed up with his friend and fellow golf snapper Howard Boylan. Together in the 2 years since start up they have produced over 30 videos for some of the top brands and courses in the industry.
